Integration CAN-D’s Summer School for Early Career Researchers

09. - 13. September LMU München

Raum: Oettingenstraße 67 L 155

The project Integration CAN-D, funded by the BMBF, is organizing a summer school for early career researchers in the field of research on the integration of refugees Germany and Canada. The summer school will take place from September 9 through September 13, 2019 in Munich at the Institut for German as a foreign Languge at LMU in Germany.
Integration CAN-D facilitates and coordinates collaborative research efforts on the integration of refugees in Canada and Germany, thereby building and expanding the evidence base for social and political debate. In addition to research networking the project supports knowledge transfer and activation. For further information on Integration CAN-D see: http://www.leibniz-bildungspotenziale.de/integration-can-d
With the summer school, we strive to support the international exchange between early-career researchers and the participating experts in our four research areas:

  • Economic, social and political challenges facing refugee children, youth and families
  • Language, literacy and learning
  • Social integration, human rights, social stigma, culture, and security/violence
  • Mental health and well-being

To facilitate the cooperation and the exchange we are planning various formats:

  • Leading international researchers will give keynotes in all of our four main areas
  • Emerging researchers will have the opportunity to present their own research projects in small working groups, discuss them with fellow participants and receive comments from experts in their field
  • specific issues and questions can be addressed in one-to-one consultations
  • as a special topic there we will conduct a workshop on strategies of knowledge mobilization in refugee research
